Nurture Your Children

We deeply value the presence of all children and youth at Riverside and seek to be a vital part of their faith experience. We strive to be a church where children can find their voice, listen with their heart and learn social justice by serving others.

Sunday mornings: Children join the worship service through “Children’s Time” with our pastor. Then, grades K-Middlers are dismissed to engage in a lively Sunday school curriculum, where art, dramatics, sensory experiences and ritual encourage discussion and interaction. We explore Bible based stories, with relevant references for today’s times.

A staffed nursery is available during the entire worship service for ages newborn through age 4.

2nd Sunday Night: Teens in high school usually meet on the 2nd Sunday night of the month from 5:30-7pm to participate in sharing/preparing food, planning service projects, cooperative games and a contemplative spiritual activity.

MiddlersMiddlers usually meet on various Friday of the month when school is in session, from 3:45-5:30pm. We share a light meal, play cooperative games, plan service projects and take part in an activity that helps them understand their spirituality.

Our Whole Lives: Our Whole Lives is a comprehensive sexuality classes for 7th-9th graders. Please call the church or contact our Director of Christian Nurture to find out more about the class.  There is a link at the bottom of the page for more information about the program. Earth Camp: At Riverside, we strive to inspire our youth to love and care for this planet we call home. However, this summer we are putting Earth Camp on pause to better meet the needs of our children and youth. Our numbers have been down a bit, which has prompted us to make this review. If you have any questions/concerns, please talk to our youth leader.
